Ronald Stewart Cameron

Ronald Stewart Cameron (July 1907 - 26 March 1991), also known as "Sam:, was born and grew up in Masterton, where he met and married Kathleen Thomson, and had 4 children, then settling in Waipukurau where he lived until he died in 1991.

Biography


Roland was born in Masterton to Walter Cameron and Madeline Stewart Cameron nee Baldwin in July 1907.

Ronald had one older sister Hinehauone Coralie Cameron, born January 1904, and one younger brother Walter Norman Cameron born 31st July 1918.  Walter was named after his uncle Norman who fought and died in World War 1.

In 1930 Ronald Married Kathleen Janet Thomson, and 5 years later had his first child Rodney, born 4th February 1935.

On August 10th 1938, Ronald's Second Child was born - Janet.

On 11th September 1940, their third child was born Sally Aileen.

Their final child was Margaret Anne, born 13 June 1944.  Unfortunately Anne, as she was known as, died of cancer at the age of 17 on November 3rd 1961.

On 26th March 1991, Ronald died of a stroke, asleep in his home in Waipukurau.  He was survived by his wife Kathleen who died in 1997, his older sister Corrie who died in 1993, and his 3 remaining children, Rodney who died 2014, Janet, and Sally.
