Oranga School Culture Festival Performance (4th November)

The Oranga School Cultural Performance happened a few weeks ago, this is the only image I can get, it is low quality and I have tried to increase the pixel rate and image quality, but this is the best I can get it.

AUT Graduation Parades Auckland

This week was a busy one for piping.  I decided to do all the AUT Graduation Parades, 4 overall from Tuesday to Friday.  I took half days off each day for this but it was still tiring over the days.

I walked to the train station each morning in my kilt and took the train into town to meet up with everyone else, and got a lift home at the end of each parade.  Below are some photos that Auckland University of Technology have posted on their Facebook page that have the band in it.  These photos are take over the course of the 4 parades.

Taiaha update 5th December 2017

One side of the tongue is mainly done, a little bit of tidying to be done, then I'll need to do the same on the other side.

79th Farewell to Gibraltar played after carving

This tune is the 79th Farewell to Gibraltar, it is a tune written by Pipe Major John Macdonald of the 79th Cameron Highlanders in June of 1848 when his regiment left Gibraltar for Canada.

The regiment had been stationed on the strategic Rock of Gibraltar for 3 years and was delighted to get off "the Rock"

Christmas Santa Parades 2nd and 3rd

This weekend had 3 Santa Parades, First was Helensville on Saturday.  We first did a 15 minute performance in the town centre at 10:45, then headed to the Ginger Crunch Cafe where the parade started at 12:00.

The march was long and quite fast, Kerry set a long stride which made it uncomfortable for some.

Sunday had 2 Parades, first being Ellerslie Santa Parade in the morning then off to Papakura in the afternoon.  If I find any photos, I will upload them to this post.

Not a cloud in the sky for the Ellerslie Parade
